Diamon-Fusion® is a patented glass coating that leverages advanced nanotechnology to enhance the durability and performance of glass surfaces. This innovative coating fills in the microscopic peaks and valleys of the glass, creating a smooth, water- and oil-repellent barrier. As a result, ordinary glass is transformed into a high-performance, stain-resistant surface that is easier to clean and maintain.
How should the glass be Cleaned?
For best results, we recommend rinsing the shower enclosure with clean water and wipe down any remaining droplets. You may also towel dry the surface or use a squeegee. Once a month, we also recommend wetting the shower enclosure and using a nylon body puff to go over the surface until clean and smooth. Then rinse and wipe down any remaining droplets.
Can the Diamon-Fusion® coating be washed away?
Absolutely not! Diamon-Fusion® permanently bonds to the glass, so the coating cannot be washed away. As long as no abrasive cleaners or alkali products are used to clean the glass, the Diamon-Fusion® coating will continue to help reduce the buildup of microbes.
What Are Abrasive Cleaners?
Abrasive cleaners contain harsh particles or chemicals designed to scrub away dirt and grime through friction. While they are effective for tough cleaning jobs, they can scratch the glass surface and wear down protective coatings like Diamon-Fusion®.
Examples of abrasive cleaners to avoid:
- Scouring powders (e.g., Comet, Ajax)
- Abrasive scrubbing pads or steel wool
- Cleansers with granules or grit
- Baking soda pastes used with vigorous scrubbing
- Hard-bristle brushes
What Are Alkali Products?
Alkali (or alkaline) products contain high pH levels, making them effective at cutting through grease and soap scum. However, their harsh chemical properties can break down the molecular structure of protective coatings over time.
Examples of alkali-based products to avoid:
- Ammonia-based cleaners (e.g., Windex with Ammonia)
- Bleach-containing products
- Strong degreasers (e.g., oven cleaners, industrial-strength cleaners)
- Drain cleaners
- High-pH soaps and detergents
Recommended Cleaning Methods
To safely clean your Diamon-Fusion®-treated glass and maintain its protective benefits, use the following:
- Mild, pH-neutral cleaners: Look for glass cleaners labeled as “non-abrasive” and “ammonia-free.”
- Diluted vinegar solutions: A mild mixture of white vinegar and water (50/50 ratio) can help dissolve minor buildup without harming the coating.
- Soft cleaning tools: Use microfiber cloths, soft sponges, or a nylon body puff to gently clean the surface.
- Water and squeegee: Once a month rinsing with clean water and wiping down with a squeegee can prevent buildup before it starts.
